What is the duration of the program?
The Professional Diploma Program in e-Drives and Battery Systems is a 9-month program designed for working professionals, engineers, and graduates who want to build practical expertise in electric mobility, EV powertrain, and battery systems.
Is campus immersion mandatory?
Yes, the program includes 3-day or 7-day campus immersion sessions at IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park (REP). These sessions are an integral part of the learning experience - covering laboratory work, hardware demonstrations, and direct interaction with IIT faculty. Attendance at immersion sessions is required for successful program completion and certification.
Who will teach the program?
The program is taught by a faculty team combining IIT Bhubaneswar REP academic faculty and practising EV industry experts. IIT faculty bring research depth in electrical engineering, power electronics, and battery systems. Industry experts bring applied experience from EV OEMs, battery manufacturers, and charging infrastructure companies.
What certification will I receive?
On successful completion of all modules, assessments, and the campus immersion requirement, participants receive a Professional Diploma in e-Drives and Battery Systems issued by IIT Bhubaneswar Research and Entrepreneurship Park (REP) in association with evACAD (pManifold EV Academy). The certificate carries the IIT Bhubaneswar REP identity and is recognised by EV industry employers across the mobility, energy, and automotive sectors.
How is this program different from a regular online EV course?
Unlike standalone online courses, this program is offered in association with IIT Bhubaneswar REP, providing IIT academic rigour, laboratory access, and an institutionally recognised diploma. The blended format combines live online instruction with mandatory on-campus lab sessions, giving participants hands-on exposure to real EV hardware and systems that purely online programs cannot provide.
Can I pursue this program while working full-time?
Yes. The program is specifically designed for working professionals. All live sessions are scheduled on weekends, and recorded sessions are available for review. Campus immersion sessions (if applicable) are planned as concentrated modules so participants can plan leave in advance without disrupting their work commitments.
Is there an entrance exam or interview for admission?
No, you just have to pay the admission and program fees to start your learning journey. Early applications are encouraged as cohort seats are limited.
