Who is eligible for the M.Tech in EV Technology for working professionals?

Candidates must hold a B.Tech or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines. Along with the degree a minimum of 2 years of industry experience at an engineering level is required. The final shortlisting and selection process follows the blended-mode M.Tech regulations set by IIT Bhubaneswar.

Can I pursue this M.Tech in EV Technology while working full-time?

Yes. The program is specifically built for working professionals. Live sessions are scheduled on weekends, self-paced modules can be completed during the week at your convenience, and campus immersion periods at IIT Bhubaneswar can be planned around work commitments. You do not need to take a career break to complete this degree.

What EV engineering skills will I gain from this program?

You will gain hands-on skills in EV powertrain design and simulation, battery management system (BMS) engineering, power electronics and electric drive control, EV charging infrastructure planning, autonomous vehicle systems and ADAS, and end-to-end EV product development. The curriculum is co-designed by IIT Bhubaneswar faculty and senior EV industry practitioners to ensure direct industry applicability.

How long is the blended M.Tech program and what is the learning format?

The program spans 2 years across 4 semesters. Each semester includes core courses, elective courses, and project work. Learning is delivered through weekend live online sessions with IIT Bhubaneswar faculty, self-paced pre-recorded modules, and scheduled campus immersion at IIT Bhubaneswar for lab practicals and industry visits. The final semester includes a dissertation based on a real-world industry project.
